What is a Chamber of Commerce?

A chamber of commerce is an organization of businesses joining together to increase business, advocate for business issues, and support a positive business environment. Chambers of Commerce have existed in the United States for more than two centuries.

Chambers serve a number of community building and business roles: Connecting businesses to foster greater prosperity and helping to increase exposure; economic development for the city and/or surrounding region, such as by attracting and retaining businesses; advocating and serving as the voice of the business community; and providing a number of services to help the business community thrive, such as educational programming, special events, mixers, marketing and connections to local government.

How much does it cost to join?

Business rates are based on the number of full time employees. For example, a home based business, and a business with one or two employees would be $130 annually.

I don’t have a business, can I still join?

Yes. Our membership is also open to residents in La Cañada Flintridge or contiguous areas around us. However, a business may be located anywhere.

How many members do you have?

As of October 2019, we have a total membership of 514 (and growing).

How long has the Chamber been around?

The La Cañada Flintridge Chamber was founded in 1912. Our new website is dedicated to Edgars Liepens, our founding webmaster from over two decades ago.

Where were you located before?

For 32 years, the Chamber enjoyed being a tenant in the Allen Lund building on Angeles Crest Highway in La Cañada Flintridge.
