ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LA CAÑADA FLINTRIDGE

AMENDING CHAPTER 7.20 PLUMBING CODE OF THE LA CAÑADA FLINTRIDGE MUNICIPAL CODE ADDING SECTION 7.20.030

TO ALLOW FOR TEMPORARY PRIVATE SEWAGE DISPOSAL SYSTEM

The City Council of the City of La Cañada Flintridge hereby ordains as follows:

Section 1. Chapter 7.20 of the La Canada Flintridge Municipal Code is hereby amended by adding a new section 7.20.030 to read as follows:

7.20.030 Temporary Private Sewage Disposal Systems. The 1999 Edition of Title 28 of the Los Angeles County Code, adopted as the Plumbing Code of the City of La Canada Flintridge is hereby amended as follows:

A. Subsection (j) of K1 Private Sewage Disposal – General of Appendix K PRIVATE
SEWAGE DISPOSAL SYSTEMS is added to read as follows:

(j) Exceptions for temporary Private Sewage Disposal Systems. The Administrative Authority and the Health Officer may adopt and amend, from time to time, a policy which permits temporary private sewage disposal systems as an interim limited means to address on-site sewage disposal while a public sanitary sewer system is being decided for the area.

Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect thirty days after its final passage and within fifteen (15) days after its passage, the City Clerk shall cause it to be published in the La Canada Valley Sun, a newspaper of general circulation in the City of La Cañada Flintridge and hereby designated for that purpose.
