Municipal Code La Cañada Flintridge is a General Law City which means the City is governed by the laws of the State. However, Government Code Section 37100 gives City Councils powers to pass ordinances as long as they are not in conflict with the laws and Constitution of the State of California or the United States. The ordinances adopted by the City Council are gathered together, or codified, in a Municipal Code. The City contracts with Quality Code Publishing to keep the Municipal Code on-line and current. Clicking on the link to the Municipal Code takes you to the Quality Code Publishing website and you can search for subjects in the City’s Municipal Code. The next General Municipal election is March 2011. Two City Council Member seats will be vacant. More election information is available here.
